Assarmatori is an Italian shipowners’ association based in Rome, Italy. It represents Italian-based shipping companies and international shipping companies operating regular maritime services in Italy.

According to its bylaws, Assarmatori aims to contribute to the development of national and international transport policies by promoting an innovative, globalized, sustainable, and environmentally friendly system capable of supporting the country’s economic, social, civil, and cultural growth.

Assarmatori represents a large part of the merchant fleet registered in Italy and some of the major shipping operators which maintain regular shipping services in Italy, contributing to the overall Italian maritime cluster. As a national shipping association, Assarmatori addresses all technical, legal, environmental, safety, training, employment, and trade policy matters that affect ship and port operations
