The Norwegian Consumer Council is an independent non-profit interest organisation assisting consumers and influencing authorities and industry in a consumer friendly direction. The Norwegian Consumer Council is fully financed by the Norwegian state, but is free to develop independent consumer policy. The Norwegian Consumer Council has its own board of directors and statutes laid down by the Ministry of Children and Family.
The mission is to be a visible, clear and independent actor who promote consumers rights and perspectives, and strengthen their opportunities to exercise consumer power.
