Interpat is a global intellectual property association representing the Chief IP Counsels from 30 of the world's leading research-based biopharmaceutical companies. Headquartered in Basel, Switzerland, Interpat is dedicated to advancing and promoting a robust and predictable intellectual property framework that enables and sustains biopharmaceutical innovation for the benefit of patients worldwide.

Interpat engages with key international organizations and national governments on matters concerning the protection and enforcement of intellectual property rights. This includes engagement with the World Trade Organization (WTO) and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), as well as on policies and legislative initiatives within the European Union that impact the global IP ecosystem.

Our primary goal is to foster a constructive, evidence-based dialogue on the vital role of intellectual property in driving medical progress and ensuring a sustainable environment for future R&D.
