Snam is Europe’s leading operator in natural gas transport, with a network of approximately 38,000 km in Italy and abroad. The company also deals with storage, holding one-sixth of the European Union's entire gas storage capacity, and regasification, where it ranks as the third largest European player, managing (or co-managing) an annual capacity of 28 billion cubic meters.

In Snam, we promote supply security and energy integration between the various available sources, making the most of the versatility of the methane infrastructure so that it can be used for the development of decarbonised gas (primarily biomethane) and the CCS (Carbon Capture and Storage) technology. We are also pursuing ways of raising energy efficiency and gas mobility.
The path we are committed to involves reducing direct greenhouse gas emissions to achieve carbon neutrality by 2040, and Net Zero on all emissions - including indirect emissions from associates and suppliers - by 2050.
