Wikimedia Europe, formerly known as the Free Knowledge Advocacy Group EU, aims at coordinating mainly the European Wikimedia chapters so they can have a unified and clear position on major legislative and political changes affecting the vision, mission and values of the Wikimedia movement.
It promotes free knowledge, knowledge equity and access through it through the non-commercial Wikimedia projects. It is also advocating for a legal framework supporting the public domain and enlarging the knowledge commons.
